Olympics Country #1 - Germany!

As the Olympics progress, we'll be paying culinary homage to a few participating countries. First up we have Germany- Oktoberfest! Willkommen nach München! For dinner, Joe was busy in the kitchen. He made bratwurst, kartoffelpuffer (potato pancakes), Bavarian pretzels (confession: store-bought haha), spätzle (which was surprisingly easy and delicious, especially topped with the onions and beer "gravy" from simmering our meat), and of course, kraut.

Who could forget the beer? I liked them both. Even Lala got in on the fun, repeating "beer" after Joe said it while in the store. Gotta love that 21 month old language development :)

For dessert, we had cupcakes. Although not truly German in nature, German chocolate cupcakes fit the bill enough for us. Pretty simple - chocolate cake, a rich cherry filling, coconut walnut frosting, and a German chocolate marshmallow as the topper.

Olympic Training

Its never too young to start training for the Olympics- 2032 here we come!!
After picking up a Jamba Juice (shameless plug: Sponsors welcome), we headed out to the track to pursue a new found favorite activity for Lala- running.

Of course, every good workout begins with some stretching-

Take your mark (No false starts Lala!)

And she is off!

There may always be a hurdle or two in the way of any goal,

but creative problem solving

gets you where you need to go!

Training dad can simultaneously refuel and unzip jackets!

"I'd like to thank Jamba for the sponsorship, Nike, God- couldn't do it without you big man, Ellen- lets book that next show huh?, Mom & Dad, and everyone who finished behind me-without you there would be nobody to beat-kidding, kidding"

Justin Bieber/ Never Say Never theme!!!

It's "Biebaaaa Babyyy". Lalas favorite celebrity!! She can recognize his voice, pictures, and music. One of her first (and most repeated) words-"BIEBA!"

How could we not do Never Say Never night??

Not much different from any other day, we blasted Justin Bieber music throughout the whole house...all day long.

Never Say Never was a great movie (we've watched it multiple times now). We are a family of Beliebers and appreciate his story.

Canada EH? Canadian fries with gravy & cheese. Much better than it looks and sounds!

Baby Baby Babies! A spin on his popular tune we created little swaddled babies.

AND of course there had to be One Less Lonely Girl

*COUGH COUGH* Our whole family has come down with something... it has to be that BIEBER FEVER! Hoping to cure it, we sipped on soup.

Maple Leaf cookies!! Canada=HOCKEY!

Microphone Cupcakes.

The Biebcakes.
